Why RePay exists.
To help people in Ethiopia who collect money on a schedule get paid in full, on time, without the notebook, the awkward phone call or the fake screenshot.
The story
It started with a ደብተር.
Most rent, school fees and dues in Ethiopia are still tracked in a ደብተር, an Excel sheet or a Telegram group. They hold the names and the amounts, but they can't tell you that someone is now two months behind, they can't remind anyone, and they can't tell a real slip from one that was sent last month.
So the hardest part of collecting money stays with the owner: scrolling through bank SMS, matching screenshots to names, and phoning people to ask. RePay was built to take that work off your hands, without taking your money out of your hands.
It shows who paid, who owes and how much. It reminds payers politely, on Telegram and SMS, on a schedule you turn on once. It checks slips and reads the bank SMS on your own phone. And it does all of that in Amharic and English, on the Ethiopian calendar, with the payment methods people here actually use.
What RePay is, and what it isn't.
Not a bank, not a wallet. RePay never holds your money. Payers pay you directly, or online through Chapa straight to your bank account.
A record, not a judge. RePay suggests and checks. Nothing is recorded until you or your staff tap, and every payment shows who recorded it.

It shows who paid, who owes and how much, sends polite Telegram and SMS reminders, and checks payment slips. It works with the Ethiopian calendar, Telebirr, CBE, M-Pesa and Chapa.
